About me

Hello, I am Pooh. Here is a bit about how I work.

I started writing software before AI could write code, and the thing that stuck with me from those years is simple:a system is not really finished on launch day. It is finished when someone can still change it two years later.

Purin Buriwong, who goes by Pooh, is a freelance software developer based in Bangkok, Thailand. He builds business websites and back-office systems for customers, and he takes remote work with clients in Thailand and abroad. He has been building software for more than seven years, he was on the developer team at Agoda, and he founded and still runs pawjai.co. He works in English and Thai. Reach him by email at askpurin@pm.me.

The short version

I started writing software when there was no tool to write it for you. Everything had to be worked out, tried, and fixed by hand. That is a slow way to learn and it teaches you things that have not stopped being true.

I spent time on the developer team at Agoda. That is where I learned what a system needs when a lot of real people depend on it and nobody can afford for it to be down.

Then I started pawjai.co, a product I built and still run myself. When it breaks at an awkward hour, I am the one who gets up. That has quietly changed how I build things for other people too: I try not to take the shortcut that is easy today and painful in a year, because I have been on the wrong end of that.

I use AI every day now, like most developers do. It is fast and it is genuinely useful. What matters is knowing which parts you can hand to it and which parts will cause trouble later.

Working together

If you are hiring me from another country

I am in Bangkok, Thailand, and a good part of my work is remote. Bangkok is six or seven hours ahead of London, so my afternoon is your morning. Australia and Singapore are close enough that it barely comes up. If you are in the Americas, we pick one time each week that suits us both and keep to it.

Honestly, the time difference is rarely what makes remote work difficult. I keep my own hours here, but I report progress at whatever time works for you, wherever you are. Beyond that, what really helps is agreeing the scope in writing and letting you watch the work take shape, so you are never left wondering where things stand. That is how I work with everyone, near or far.

You will also be dealing with me directly, rather than an account manager relaying messages back and forth. When something is unclear, you can ask the person who actually wrote the code.

And if your project touches Thailand at all, working in both languages saves a great deal of back and forth. I have built sites and systems that run in more than one language before, so it is familiar territory rather than something we would be figuring out together as we go.
